My Wife

In September of 2000, I met the woman of my dreams, Vanessa Dimick.  She is from Pensacola, FL, and was staying with a friend who was staying with my next door neighbor in Clarksville, TN.  We found that we were right for each other, and on August 11 of 2001, we were married at the Pensacola Christian College Chapel in Pensacola, FL.  We then went to Fellers Cove in Fairhope, AL for two nights.  The bed and breakfast was very nice, with double hammocks in most places that we looked.  It was a very relaxing place to spend a couple of days with just ourselves to answer to.  We then flew to Sacramento, CA, and drove to Placerville for a few days of exploring and white water rafting down the American River.  That was my first time white water rafting, and man was that fun!

After the few days in Placerville, we headed back to Sacramento, then south to the Salinas and Monterey area, where Vanessa spent her early years.  We even found her old house, after many years being gone.  We spent about a week there, exploring whatever suited our fancies, like the Monterey Aquarium, Cannery Row, and we even went kayaking at Monterey Bay Kayaks.  We had a great time there, and were pretty tired by the time we headed back to Pensacola to pack up Vanessa’s things and drive back to Clarksville, TN.  Since then, we’ve been working on the house, making repairs and painting, working around the outside on the lawn, flower beds, and trees.  Always an endless supply of work around the house!

In August of 2004, God blessed us with a very healthy baby girl, named Gabriella Karenina Bushong.  She weighed 7 lbs, 12 ounces, and has been a joy to us.  I was able to be home for the first five months of her life, then was reassigned to Korea for a one year tour.  That was the hardest time of my life, leaving my family at that point.  I was able to take leave in July 2005, and was shocked by her advances.  She was eleven months old, was walking, trying hard to talk, picking up very heavy things (relatively), and just having a ball.  I had a great time for those three weeks, and am on the last half of my tour at this point.  I can’t wait to retire!!!  I’ll take a lower paying job, if I get to spend more time at home with Gabby and Vanessa.  Things certainly change when a guy gets married!!

In March of 2007, God blessed us with another very healthy baby girl, named Madelyn Cosette Bushong.  She was 8 lbs, 14 ounces, and has been a joy, also.
